Stainless Steel 410S Tubing is a low-carbon, non-hardenable version of Type 410, with around 11.5–13.5% chromium and trace amounts of carbon (≤0.08%), which improves weldability and resistance to corrosion. This ferritic stainless steel provides sound oxidation resistance and has sound mechanical strength at higher temperatures. The tubing provides a medium tensile strength of about 415 MPa and sound ductility, and it is simple to form and fabricate. It resists heat and thermal fatigue in moderate temperatures and is less susceptible to weld cracking than more highly carbon grades, and is thus used in heat exchangers, exhaust systems, and thermal process equipment.
