Stainless Steel 317 Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with improved corrosion resistance due to increased molybdenum content. It has a typical composition of 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and as much as 0.08% carbon. All these components help it exhibit superior chemical attack resistance, especially in the presence of chlorides and other halides. SS 317 tubing has mechanical properties like tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 35%. It also has good weldability, formability, and high-temperature strength, which makes it ideal for use in critical industrial applications.
