SMO 254 Tubing, or UNS S31254, is austenitic stainless steel with a high level of alloying, made up mostly of 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, and nitrogen and copper additions that increase its pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. It possesses fine mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of about 650 MPa, yield strength of about 300 MPa, and elongation of 35%. The tubing has superior toughness and weldability that permits it to perform well in high-stress conditions where durability and corrosion resistance are key performance attributes.
