Stainless Steel 301L Tubing is low-carbon austenitic stainless steel containing 16–18% chromium, 6–8% nickel, and less than 0.03% carbon. The lower carbon content improves the resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding and weldability. SS 301L has good mechanical strength, with tensile strength of 520–860 MPa and yield strength of about 170–310 MPa based on condition. It has superior elongation and toughness, especially in cold-working applications. These mechanical and compositional properties render it perfect for those applications that demand both strength and corrosion resistance, and particularly where welding is concerned.
