Monel Tubing consists mostly of nickel (around 63%) and copper (28–34%), along with minute amounts of iron, manganese, silicon, and carbon. This combination of alloy provides Monel with superior resistance to corrosion in seawater as well as corrosive environments that are acidic in nature. The tubing has tensile strength from 480 to 620 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 170 MPa along with excellent elongation and impact toughness. Monel Tubing maintains its ductility and strength over a vast temperature range and is very easy to weld, thus ideal for high-stress, high-temperature, as well as highly chemically aggressive industrial uses.
