Stainless Steel 317/317L Heat Exchanger Tubing is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel alloy with about 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum in its composition. The 317L variant has up to 0.03% carbon for better weldability and less chance of intergranular corrosion. These tubes provide very good mechanical properties such as tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and high elongation. High resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and overall chemical attack in stainless steel tubes is suitable for their use in heat exchanger processes in aggressive environments with high temperature and corrosion.
