Titanium Gr 8 Tubes consist of commercially pure titanium with a trace addition of palladium (0.13% to 0.25%), which significantly improves their corrosion resistance, particularly in the reducing acid environment. This grade has the corrosion resistance of Titanium Gr 2 with the added strength and crevice corrosion protection. The pipes show a tensile strength of about 345 MPa (50,000 psi), yield strength of about 275 MPa (40,000 psi), and high ductility. With favorable weldability and formability, Titanium Grade 8 is suitable for services exposed to aggressive chemicals and brine environments.
