Aluminium 5052 Pipes consist of a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy that comprises mainly aluminium (about 95.7%), with magnesium (2.2%–2.8%) and chromium (0.15%–0.35%) as important alloying constituents. The above combination provides excellent resistance to corrosion in marine and chemical environments. The alloy possesses outstanding fatigue strength, moderate-to-high tensile strength (210–260 MPa), and satisfactory weldability. It possesses also better formability and smooth surface finish and, therefore, finds application in multiple fabrication operations. Aluminium 5052 Pipes exhibit good performance under mechanical stress as well as under exposure to extreme environmental conditions and are, therefore, well suited for structural and fluid transfer applications.
