AISI 4130 tubes are manufactured using a low alloy steel with chromium (0.80–1.10%) and molybdenum (0.15–0.25%), with carbon varying from 0.28–0.33%. The alloy has a wonderful combination of strength, toughness, and weldability. AISI 4130 has a tensile strength of 560–670 MPa, yield strength of about 460 MPa, and elongation of around 25% which is good. It has high fatigue strength and abrasion resistance.
